A touring company where no one gets left out
From driving bands to managing and routing tours, at Offshoot, we do more than assist people on tour.
By building a diverse roster of drivers and tour managers, we’re actively promoting positive opportunity within the touring industry.
It's our belief that this enhances the resources that bands and artists rely on.
Diversity is a superpower
At Offshoot Tours, we believe touring should be for everyone. But of course, things aren’t always that rosy.
Being the intersectional people we are, we found it difficult to find others we could truly identify with in the industry. The amount of women, people of colour (POC) and queer drivers was also vanishingly thin and some of our experiences with In-house crews (often male-dominated) left us feeling frustrated. It was time for a POC women-led touring company to exist.
Opportunities are
badly needed
We’re actively building an inclusive community and a diverse roster of drivers and tour managers who celebrate women and POC within the touring industry. Together, we can play our part in shaping the future of touring.
As touring musicians ourselves we’re aware of the big and small challenges around organising and being on tour.
Sometimes it seems that there’s an element of gatekeeping to this industry. Don't worry, we're here to demystify it and help you navigate this space.
Safety and well-being
Let's be real, touring is the bristling epicentre of lolz and mischief and we love to see artists living their best lives on tour. Having said that, touring can be intense and tough, both physically and emotionally. Treating people with dignity and recognising their value is paramount to smooth, working relationships out on the road.
We will always put people's safety and well-being first and we expect the same level of care and respect returned to Offshoot drivers and tour managers. This way everyone feels the benefit and has the best experience together on the road. Win win.
Sustainability is sexy
The climate is changing at an alarming rate and the touring industry plays its own part in this impending doom. It might not seem like much, but we are taking small actions around waste reduction to avoid unnecessary carbon contribution.
When we're in an unfamiliar city or country we will actively seek out local or national recycling rules and stick to them, no excuses. We try to encourage venues that we work with to provide green riders so everyone gets a hot meal to avoid wasteful packaging. We also have big, bold future ambitions to run an all-electric vehicle fleet, but until then we'll continue with the things we can do right now.
